About Me
My name is Steven Lloyd Watkin. I am 28 years of age and currently live in Bristol, UK. I originally come from a small village outside of Pontardawe which is about 45 minutes from Cardiff (the capital city of Wales). I originally gained a masters degree in Astrophysics at Cardiff University in 2004. Since then I’ve been working in PHP and love every minute of it :)
My main hobby is scuba diving, I’ve been diving for almost 7 years after giving it a go in Egypt in 2003. See my main scuba diving page here: http://www.evilprofessor.co.uk/scuba-diving/. I now have done over 200 dives mostly in the UK but also in other places such as Thailand, Egypt, and Tenerife. I also organise the world record breaking Scuba Santas having come up with the idea over a couple of beers and just running with it. Scuba Santas has the world record for the greatest number of simultaneous scuba diving father christmas’ and raise around £10,000 each year for the RNLI.
My other great love is hiking/trekking, I’ve recently (December 2010) returned for trekking to Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal. Other hobbies of mine include:
- Technology (gadgety stuff ;))
- Running
- Cooking
- Travelling
- Rugby
- …and… having great nights out with friends
The rugby teams I support are: Neath, Pontypool, Ospreys, and of course, Wales.
