My name is Steven Lloyd Watkin. I am 25 years of age and currently live in Cardiff, Wales. I originally come from a small village outside of Pontardawe which is about 45 minutes from Cardiff. I am currently in the third year of a PhD at the School of Physics and Astronomy at Cardiff University. My research is mainly looking for changes in the outgoing longwave radiation of the Earth and how this might be used to detect signatures of climate change. I originally gained a masters degree in Astrophysics at the same department in 2004.

My main hobby is scuba diving, I’ve been diving for almost 3 years after giving it a go in Egypt in 2003. See my main scuba diving page here: http://www.evilprofessor.co.uk/scuba-diving/. I now have done over 200 dives mostly in the UK but also in other places such as Thailand, Egypt, and Tenerife. Other hobbies of mine include:

The rugby teams I support are: Neath, Pontypool, Ospreys, and of course, Wales.
